Microsoft Fail to Communicate! | ||||||||||||||||||||
|
Anxious messages have been flooding Internet newsgroups from users who say having installed IE5 without any problems, they then find installing or re-installing Outlook 98 impossible, leaving them without e-mail access. Neil Laver, Internet products manager for Microsoft, said that he was not aware of the problem. 'If it proves to be serious we will develop a fix.' Laver added, ' Office 2000 with a new version of Outlook, is about to be launched and that has IE5 in it, which would solve the problem.' |
Our Verdict |
Like so many other Microsoft applications, IE5 is one of the best products on the market. But isn't it strange that once Microsoft issue something new, everything else starts to need upgrading. Office 2000 may resolve the problem, but at what price to the end user? Time - well you know the past history on installation and fine tuning Money - Office 2000 will only fully functional with Windows 2000!!! And lets not forget the infamous characteristic - Bloatware Beginning to sound familiar? |
