A Prince Amongst Frogs

Guy Manning

Many moons ago when the World was young,
a small frog sat on a rock contemplating his lot.

The pool in front of him glistened in the reflected light
from the sinking red sun.
The water gently lapped in a relaxing ebb and flow rhythm,
the insects, hidden from view, created a spiral of sound
in the heat rinsed summer air.

Everything was perfect, it was a golden moment,
a crystal to be held up to the light, but for one flaw.
The frog had forgotten his headphones
and so couldn't check out his new copy
of the CD by Guy Manning called

Tall Stories for Small Children

.... "Bugger!" thought the frog

Guy Manning, lives in Leeds, Yorkshire. He has been writing
music since his schooldays.

Involved with a lot of the Leeds circuit local bands, he has
played the Yorkshire area for a number of years. Nowadays,
he is more content to produce albums from his own purpose
built studio, than to chase the 'Rock Dream'.

His main love of music started in the 1970's and his personal
favourite genre is that of Progressive Rock in areas explored
by bands such as early Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull etc.
His own music, reflects these passions but is done in his own
idiosyncratic style.
The songs are in the main, narrative stories, some allegories,
some pure tale telling but all have been written to provoke a
response from the listener. He's already working on the follow
up album (he had too any pieces for a single work).

We'll have to wait and see ... like the frog!
